February 8, a day to be reckoned with as the financial world stood still to celebrate the birthday of an iconic Dame Adaora Umeoji-Nwokoye, the Deputy Managing Director of Zenith Bank Nigeria Plc.

The Adorable Ada, is an accomplished financial expert with over 20 years cognate banking and broad executive management experience, is so efficient at her job owing to her tenacity of purpose, good human relations, hardwork, dedication to service and excellence driven. She has the ability to take unhealthy portfolio and transform it into healthy and thriving one.

Without raising of an eyebrow, Umeoji-Nwokoye excelled thriftly where others fail, like the saying, “Dare to be different today, allows you to become extraordinary tomorrow”.

Because of her style discovered to be dependable, trustworthy and reliable. Her unweavering skills, talents and her years of commitment to work, She is being celebrated as part of the brain behind the success of the trail brazing financial giant.

For records, She holds a Bachelor’s degree from University of Jos, an MBA from University of Calabar and a Doctorate degree in Business Administration from Apollos University, Great Falls, Montana, USA.

The beautiful and dedicated woman was trained in strategic thinking and management at Wharton Business School, Pennsylvania, USA and also holds a Certificate in Management from Harvard Business School, Boston, USA.

“Be awesome, don’t be average” they say, the delectable woman has held several management positions in the Bank and has contributed significantly to the current profitability of the Bank.

Like the holy book said, “Seest thou a man diligent in his business? he shall stand before kings; he shall not stand before mean men”.

Her outstanding contributions has virtually attested to the dependability and reliability of this lady of substance from all her boss, including the Chairman and Founder of Zenith Bank, Mr. Jim Ovia, the incumbent Governor of Central Bank of Nigeria, Mr. Godwin Emefiele, and the incumbent MD/CEO of the Bank, Mr. Godwin Onyeagwu. 

October 17, 2020, Dame Adaora Umeoji-Nwokoye, stood out as she was conferred with the Dame of the Pontifical Equestrian Order of Saint Sylvester Pope and Martyr for her selfless service to the Church and humanity.

The founder of the Catholic Bankers’ Association of Nigeria (CBAN) must have touched numerous lives in her passion in promoting professionalism in the banking industry and improving the well-being of the less privileged.

The Catholic Archbishop of Abuja, Ignatius Kaigama, in his words;

“She is a woman with a very large heart. She’s very sensitive to the needs of people around her – children, vulnerable adults and those in need of one thing or the other.

“So, I think it is because she honours God in human beings that are suffering that God is also honouring her.

“Look at the big crowd of people, look at the bishops from the East, from the West, look at the Cardinal and all of us. We are rejoicing with her.

“She is not only a sound professional in her area of work, she is also a solid Catholic, a real daughter of the church”.

Dame Adaora Umeoji-Nwokoye, the Pride of the banking world, “one beautiful heart is better than thousand beautiful faces”.
