As infection rate continue to abate in the last few days, Nigeria has recorded 21 deaths in the last 24 hours with 676 new cases of coronavirus.
The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, NCDC, in their latest report on Monday night, said that Nigeria now has a total of 131,918 confirmed cases, 106,275 recoveries and 1,607 deaths.
Lagos still retain the highest new infection rate with 227, followed by Rivers 73 and Niger 69.
Others include Plateau-56, FCT-50, Kano-44, Oyo-43, Ogun-27, Gombe-18, Ondo-15, Enugu-10, Osun-10, Cross River-8, Edo-8, Nasarawa-7, Bauchi-4, Kaduna-3, Ekiti-2, Zamfara-2.
However, 75 health workers were reported to have been infected with COVID-19 last week.
The NCDC Director-General, Chikwe Ihekweazu, advised health workers to have a high index of suspicion in the course of discharging their duties.
