Nigeria Hits new Record Of COVID-19 Infection

The spike in COVID-19 pandemic in Nigeria became worsened on Thursday as the nation reported 1,964 new cases, highest single day infection.

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, NCDC, said this in a tweet on Thursday night.

The accumulating figure brings the total number of recorded cases to 116,655, with 93,646 discharged cases and a total death toll of 1,485.

Lagos, the epicentre of the pandemic in Nigeria, reported 824 new cases followed by FCT with 246 infections.

Others are; Plateau-166, Kaduna-128, Ogun-76, Nasarawa-74, Anambra-69, Edo-50, Rivers-45, Ondo-44, Niger-40, Oyo-38, Adamawa-35, Kano-31, Akwa Ibom-27, Gombe-19, Kwara-13, Ekiti-12, Delta-6, Kebbi-6, Bauchi-5, Ebonyi-4, Osun-3, Zamfara-1.

Global update shows that more than 96,825,840 cases of coronavirus have been registered and at least 2,075,698 people have died since the outbreak of the pandemic in December 2019.
