The spike in COVID-19 pandemic in Nigeria became worsened on Thursday as the nation reported 1,964 new cases, highest single day infection.
The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, NCDC, said this in a tweet on Thursday night.
The accumulating figure brings the total number of recorded cases to 116,655, with 93,646 discharged cases and a total death toll of 1,485.
Lagos, the epicentre of the pandemic in Nigeria, reported 824 new cases followed by FCT with 246 infections.

Global update shows that more than 96,825,840 cases of coronavirus have been registered and at least 2,075,698 people have died since the outbreak of the pandemic in December 2019.
