The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, NCDC, has reported 163 new cases of the novel coronavirus, even as 14 more persons were confirmed dead across the country.

Lagos and Rivers’ tally made it the first and second respectively most-prolific virus states on Wednesday, the country’s epicentre of the global pandemic.

NCDC said this in a tweet on Thursday morning.

According to official sources, more than 96,144,670 cases of coronavirus have been registered and at least 2,058,226 people have died since the outbreak of the pandemic in December 2019.
