As the saying goes “Readers are Leaders.” An average person reads two books a year while an average leader reads 4 to 6 books a month. Imagine a writer who puts in decades of experience in a book and you have the advantage of downloading that experience in a matter of days to your advantage through reading his book. So how do you do that?
Here are few tips that can help you.
On Amazon, the average number of words per book is about 64,000 words, the average person reads about 200 words per minute, so if you divide 64,000 by 200, you get 320 minutes per book of 64,000 words. How many minutes per day? Do the math, it’s about 45mins per day, that’s pretty cool isn’t it?
It’s very tempting to say “oh it’s just 45mins, I can do that easily” but you have to schedule it into your appointment and itinerary as a to do objective. It has to be a 45mins of no distraction from friends, favorite TV show or anything, not even time to take a client on inspection (else I give you a cyber knock ) it’s a time for your self care because self care is not selfish.
*#3. Set your reading time to a time you’re awake*
Most people have the habit of reading when they’re about to sleep, however during that time, the brain cells are not active to assimilate actively as they would when the faculties are alert. You wanna read and retain what you’re reading for self development and you don’t want to do that when you’re unconscious.
So remember *Knowledge is power, reading is your super power.*
