The Independent Electoral Commission, INEC, has declared the incumbent governor of Ondo state, and the All Progressive Party flagbearer, Governor Rotimi Akeredolu winner of the Ondo state governorship election held on saturday, October 10.

Akeredolu polled a total votes of 292,830 to defeat the major challenger, Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, candidate, Eyitayo Jegede with 195,780 votes.

The returning Officer, Prof. Idowu Olayinka, made the announcement on Sunday at the INEC headquarters in Akure, Ondo state.

Akeredolu won 16 of the 18 LGA’S results announced by INEC.
